Parenting Tweens & Early Teens - Navigating the Journey From Childhood to Adolescence

7/16/2020 - 7/30/2020

12:30pm - 1:30pm PT

The tween or preteen years are a time of transition and transformation in a young person's life --  physically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially.

Though your adolescent may not fling themself at you as you return home from work, they need your love and warm attention just as much as before, although in different ways.

During a time of monumental change, and in particular during the uncertainty and fear brought on by a pandemic, these connections are vital to the well-being of our pre-adolescents as well as our own. Learn how you can continue to develop trust with your tweens in an interactive 3-part webinar series with Françoise Sansoni, an experienced Montessori educator and high school teacher.

What you will learn

  • Developmental characteristics of 9-14 year olds
  • Body and brain changes going into adolescence
  • Emotional states and how to be supportive
  • How to manage challenging behaviours while respecting independence and privacy
  • Setting and enforcing limits
  • Engaging in meaningful conversations
